T-Mobile iPhone MMS Fix - The media content was not included due to a picture resolution or message size restriction
Recently I had some problems with my jailbroken unlocked iPhone 3G 3.0 on T-Mobile. I was getting the error: “The media content was not included due to a picture resolution or message size restriction.”.
This is the fix for that:
- Open Cydia and search for “Legacy” – Install the first one on top. (TMobile US)
- Once installed you’ll need to reset your network settings. Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Confirm
- Now go to Settings > General > Network > and make sure Data Roaming is set to ‘On’
- Now go to Cellular Data Network > and enter the following:
- APN: epc.tmobile.com for MMS This SHOULD be wap.voicestream.com
- APN: wap.voicestream.com for Cellular Data
- MMSC: 216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
- Proxy: 216.155.165.50:8080
- Go all the way back to Settings and then press Home.
- Turn off the phone.
- Wait for the phone to completely power off, wait 30 seconds and then power back on.
- If your phone crashes and you get the Sad Phone Face, it’s fine, unlock the phone and reset the Springboard if need be.
- Now have someone send you a Picture Message and make sure you can send out MMS.

It worked for me after I fixed my settings.
first i cant find legacy, but i downloaded the tmobile us bundle thing.
then i try to get to cellular network data but cant find it anywhere...
E-Dog, I have learned that both wap.voicestream.com and internet2.voicestream.com will work, but to be honest, I think wap… is faster for some reason. Don’t get me wrong, 2G is slow no matter what, so every little bit helps.<o:p></o:p>

I'm using an unlocked iPhone 3G ver. 3.1.2... After MANY calls to T-Mobile! Finally I can get pix with the sexting!!!! ; D
If you can not access your network settings to change them the do a factory restore and unlock it again. Then install Legacy and make sure you do exactly what this article says.
I'm getting the same message on a 32GB 3GS.
1. Running 3.1.2, not jailbroken, factory unlocked (from outside the US).
2. I can send picture messages/MMS messages to myself. I can send MMS to others. I can't receive from others. I tried receiving from people on Verizon, ATT, & T-Mobile and it didn't work, it gave the message above.
3. I made sure I had sent a picture message to 222 in order to activate the T-Mobile myalbum feature (someone suggested trying that too).
4. The settings are as above. I may try a factory reset to see if that helps.
I will post here if I figure it out too.
The strangest thing is that I can send an MMS to myself, but no one else can. I believe that even sending to yourself it goes out to the network and back (it certainly is slow enough to have done so).
If anyone has additional suggestions, I'd be interested in hearing them.

1. Adding a MMS Max Message Size parameter to see if that changed things and it did not.
2. I tried internet2.voicestream.com for the Cellular Data APN
3. Obviously turning it on and off.

I too have a factory unlocked 32gb 3gs iPhone (from Australia). I can send mms with the settings provided. I have only received ONE mms during multiple tests.
T-Mobile support said to install Legacy, but since ours is factory unlocked, I don't think we need to do that. Let me know if you ever figure out how to send mms. Thanks.

I used to be able to send && recieve mms perfectly fine. Then Swirly MMS app thing from cydia got installed on my phone && everything got screwed up!! my phone crashed, && rebooted itself && now i cant send or recieve anything i can only email photos. Ive entered every single mms setting out there && nothing seems to work. does any one know what i can do to get my mms back?? please help!!

I got the new iPhone 3GS in Jan 2010. also with T-Mobile internet and MMS: wap.voicestream.com. I only can sent picture messages but can't receive. After I did all the steps above, I can send and receive picture messages perfectly. Thank you very much

I have 2g 8gig I only have data plan.are you guys using wap.voicestream because you are paying $30 a month for the internet thru Tmoblie?
You can only use epc.tmobile.com if you can access your email etc..
Using wap.voicestream or internet you have to have a data plan which $30..I have a tzone which is doesnt exist anymore was increased in price to $9.00 cuz ...
Can anyone clarify the settings for mms ?
